This page explains the cookies and similar storage technologies (collectively “cookies”) used on bathyk.com. What loads, and when, depends on the region you are visiting from and the choice you make in our cookie banner.
You can change your choice at any time using the link in the footer.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website asks your browser to store. They let the site remember you between visits, measure how the site is used, and (when you allow it) attribute advertising. Some cookies are set by us (first-party); others are set by services we embed (third-party). The same rules apply to similar storage like localStorage or sessionStorage.
2. How consent works by region
We detect your country from network request headers (your IP is not stored for this purpose) so we can apply the right consent model:
- EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland — opt-in. Nothing other than the essential consent cookie loads until you click Accept all in the banner. We use Google Consent Mode v2 and IAB-style category controls.
- United States — opt-out. Analytics loads by default. Advertising cookies also load by default unless you click Opt out of ad cookies in the cookie settings — exercising your CCPA / CPRA / similar US-state right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
- Other regions — analytics and advertising load by default. You can reject everything at any time via the footer link.
3. Essential cookies
One first-party localStorage entry stores your cookie-banner choice. Without it, we'd ask you on every page load. This is strictly necessary and cannot be turned off.
bathyk_consent— stores accepted, rejected, or us-opt-out. Expires after 12 months.
4. Analytics — Microsoft Clarity
When analytics is allowed, we load Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the Site (page views, clicks and scroll behaviour, aggregated session replay). Clarity masks form input by default and does not record passwords.
Clarity sets first-party and third-party cookies under .clarity.ms and .bing.com, including identifiers such as _clck, _clsk, CLID, and MUID. Read Microsoft's privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com.
5. Analytics — PostHog (EU Cloud)
When analytics is allowed, we load PostHog (EU region — data stored in the EU) to capture events such as form submissions, CTA clicks, and aggregated funnels. PostHog does not sell your data and is used only by Bathyk staff for product analytics.
PostHog sets first-party cookies and writes to localStorage under identifiers such as ph_*. Read their policy at posthog.com/privacy.
6. Analytics & advertising — Google Tag Manager, GA4, Google Ads
We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4 (analytics) and Google Ads conversion tracking (advertising). Both run in Google Consent Mode v2: until you grant the relevant categories, no Google cookies are written and any pings sent are stripped of identifiers (cookie-less, no client ID).
When granted, Google sets cookies including _ga, _ga_*, _gcl_* (Google Ads attribution), and may use third-party cookies under .google.com / .doubleclick.net. Read Google's policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Anti-abuse — Cloudflare Turnstile
The audit form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile runs a brief challenge in the background and returns a single-use token. It is designed to not require third-party cookies and does not build a behavioural profile across the web.
Cloudflare may use a temporary first-party reference identifier scoped to challenges.cloudflare.com to deduplicate challenges. Read Cloudflare's policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
8. Other third-party services
Embedded code on third-party domains (for example links to Calendly, Fiverr, GitHub, or our parent site dock30.com) is not loaded until you click the link, so it does not set cookies on bathyk.com itself. Once you follow the link, that destination's cookie policy applies.
9. Changing or withdrawing consent
Use the link in the footer at any time. You can also block or delete cookies via your browser settings — doing so will not break the Site, but analytics and advertising tags will be disabled regardless of your in-banner choice.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. The current version is always at this URL with an updated effective date.
